So you now know my secret to earning my TEFL certification for almost nothing (€24)! But, did I like the program I signed up for? Was it worth the original price of €380??
To be honest, yes and no.
When I was searching for online TEFL programs that were going to give me the most for my money, I found so many options I didn't know where to go.
The scholarship program through Angloville and Premier TEFL was one of the best decisions I made moving forward with my career. But, I don't think I got the most out of my TEFL course.
Why Premier TEFL?
To be honest, it was the unbeatable price through my scholarship program that brought me to Premier TEFL. I did not get to choose the TEFL course I wanted, but in the end I was happy with my decision.
Premier TEFL offered me great flexibility to complete my courses at my own pace while working 2 part-time jobs. I could come home from work and while I ate dinner or before going to bed, I would read through my lessons and take notes.
Your certification is internationally recognized by the Accreditation Council for Distance Learning and will never expire.
How are the courses organized?
The 120-hour course is divided into 10 modules with quizzes to test your understanding. Each module teaches different aspects of teaching English, such as Teaching Pronounciation and Teaching Grammar. You can download the modules onto your laptop or phone so you can read and study anywhere. I even studied while on my lunch break at work!
They also provide suggestions on how to organize your CV for job applications. I found this extremely helpful as I had never created a CV before.
How much study time do you have?
All of the TEFL courses offered through Premier TEFL allot you 6 months of study time. The Anglo-TEFL scholarship program only allots you 3 months. However, this is plenty of time to complete the course.
I completed my certification in 3 weeks!
My overall opinion
I am going to be honest with you. Had I not found the Anglo-TEFL scholarship program, I would not have selected the Premier TEFL course on its own.
I felt knowledgable about teaching English after finishing the course, but I don't think I felt as prepared as I could have. I would have prefered more video lessons and a more interactive course instead of reading all of the lessons all the time.
And, if I had paid full price for the 120-hour Advanced course, I don't think the course material would be worth the cost. There are other courses that offer more for a cheaper price.
Since I did apply through the scholarship program, I am very happy with what I got for my money. And if I had to go back and choose, I would select the scholarship all over again.
